Sony has shared the first images of the Gran Turismo movie at the CES 2023 Fair in Las Vegas. The short video shows the racing action that will be featured in the film. The highly anticipated production will be released on August 11, 2023.
The Gran Turismo movie is based on the story of Jann Mardenborough, a real racing driver who became a pilot through the GT Academy and training program. However, Mardenborough will not be appearing in the film. The short video shared by Sony features drone shots and cockpit camera footage that remind us of Gran Turismo trailers and the racing action we see in the game.
The video also includes comments from the cast of the movie. According to Archie Madekwe, who plays Jann Mardenborough, we can expect to see "drama" and "a love story" in the adaptation. Orlando Bloom says that viewers will feel the excitement and every bump of a 200 mph race.
The cast of Gran Turismo includes well-known names such as Orlando Bloom, Archie Madekwe, Djimon Hounsou, Geri Halliwell, David Harbour, and Darren Barnet. The film will be directed by Neill Blomkamp, known for District 9, and the screenplay will be written by Jason Hall.
