Breaking ties with Electronic Arts, FIFA made statements that gave clues about future games such as FIFA 24.
Last year, an era came to an end when Konami changed the name and strategy of the legendary PES series. PES has now taken the form of a free-to-play online game rather than competing with FIFA and named eFootball. Thus, FIFA's burden was lightened and Electronic Arts, which developed the game, found the courage to leave FIFA's naming rights. After these developments, the new name EA will use finally announced this week. According to the latest information, FIFA officials will launch a new plan for FIFA 24 by making a counterattack.
FIFA 24 will come from another developer.
EA Sports has been using FIFA's naming rights for the football game it has developed. The long-standing name deal was broke by EA. FIFA 23 will be release by EA again and will continue under the name EA Sports FC. For now, it was thought that the name FIFA would no longer be referred to as a game. However, the interview given by the FIFA President reveals that FIFA will continue independently from EA:
The gaming and e-sports industry is on the path of unrivaled growth and diversification. FIFA's strategy is to ensure that we can make the most of all future options and provide a wide range of products and opportunities for players, fans, affiliates and partners.
It is also a matter of curiosity which developer FIFA will work with to develop the game. Since a game will be developed from scratch, we can foresee a fierce competitor to EA Sports FC. This formidable opponent will be called FIFA 24 and is being developed from scratch; it will bring us either a different game or a fiasco like eFootball.
Do you think FIFA will be successful with a different developer than EA?
